How did you start working at Romantic Depot?

I started working here in the fall after managing a high-end photography studio. It was quite the switch going from photos to adult toys! I’m always up for a challenge and love to broaden my horizons. I’m licensed in Esthetics, but have decided to move in a different direction. When I saw the ad on Indeed, I figured a change is

just what I needed. You never know where each path in life will lead you! I saw this store as an exciting new opportunity.

What is your favorite adult toy or erotic novelty?

My favorite adult toy is the VIP Kristen Corinne! A rabbit that can also be found in our Supercharged Kit, medical grade silicone, waterproof and rechargeable! I love to see the customers reactions when I show them the circular motion. It usually gets a good laugh and breaks the ice for those who may feel shy.

Why do you like working at Romantic Depot?

I like working at Romantic Depot because no single day is the same. The opportunity to learn and grow is always available. I couldn’t imagine a job that didn’t involve customer service.

What is the craziest wildest thing a customer has asked or done at the store?

The craziest thing a customer has done in our store was twerk and dance for our Instagram story! She started dancing and having a great time for videos to her friends as well!

How did you start working at Romantic Depot?

A long time ago (2001), in a galaxy far away (Rockland County), I took a break from my life in Manhattan and career in graphic design, “temporarily” took a position at Romantic Depot in West Nyack, and the rest is history.

It was our only location at the time, and here I still am 17yrs later….The job that I took as a goof, just to pay a few bills at the moment, turned into a rewarding career with a company that has grown over time just as much as I have. Who could’ve guessed it?

What is your favorite adult toy or erotic novelty?

Obviously I would have to say it’s the “OUR-gasm”, because my name is right on the box and I wouldn’t have endorsed it if it wasn’t totally awesome.  And for anyone who doesn’t know what it is, check out my Youtube video (insert link here).

Why do you like working at Romantic Depot?

Everyone who has ever worked retail knows that it can be hell on earth.  So, I guess it appeals to my sadistic side??? LMAO

But all jokes aside, I love nothing more than educating my customers on pleasure and sexual health. I will never get tired of hearing people tell me how comfortable I make them feel. Whenever people compliment me for being such a wonderful “salesgirl”, I laugh because I could never “sell” a product I didn’t believe in. I usually correct them by saying, “I’m not selling anything. I’m simply explaining what this product does. These items sell themselves.”

Being a sexologist means that we have to work long hours, usually giving up our nights, weekends, and holidays to always be open and available for our clientele. But when someone tells me that I’m saving their marriage or helping them feel comfortable with their sexuality, it makes it ALL worth it.

What is the craziest wildest thing a customer has asked or done at the store?

I get asked that question all the time and honestly, I never know what to say……

Romantic Depot is the original “judgement free zone”, and if I had a dollar for every time a customer said “OK,  I have a weird question….”, then I would probably be rich enough that I wouldn’t have to work.

Sometimes in order to help a customer find the right product,  we have to ask some questions that get a little personal;  and as a result,  I have had people open up to me and tell me things they have never told their best friend,  their doctor, or even their partner.

I have been working at Romantic Depot so long that I have seen it all and heard it all.  Nothing shocks me because that’s the nature of this business…… I believe that you should never pass judgement or shame anyone for their lifestyle choices, having a fetish, or wanting to experiment with something they are curious about because the very thing that makes sex so exciting is that we ALL have different turn-ons when it comes to intimacy.

Wasn’t it George Carlin who said “If sex isn’t kinky then you are doing something wrong?”  LOL
